We are not sure how it works but it comes with its gray leather carry case and 1 breath tube. It powers up and the coloured led's light up on the front, but we have to say we haven't been able to make it tell us if someone has had any alcohol. You will need to find some instructions for it, We are sure there will be some out on the internet somewhere if you look hard enough. It is powered by 6 AA battery NOT INCLUDED.
